Eden Complex, Epilogue

Shortly after Linden was born, we moved. With the size of our home, having a family of 4 (and possibly growing, since Jason and I are still very much in love) would mean that no one got personal room, and we'd have to share one small bathroom. That wasn't going to work.

The living area is huge, and gorgeous. We made the decision to add a TV when we had some money.

The kitchen is gorgeous, too! None of us really care for cooking, but having a large kitchen will make future birthdays much less crowded.

And our bedroom? Gorgeous! (And it will become very well used, with Jason and I.)

 
I loved playing with the doll house we put in the hall. I remembered how, just a few short years ago, I played with humans like these dolls. Now, I've been one for so long, I can hardly remember the Devine.

That doesn't mean I don't want to go back, of course I do! I couldn't figure out what the stupid selfless act was, though.

Before long it was Bay's birthday. I had gotten her a pair of sunglasses to wear, and Jason had gotten her some cute clothes.

"Bay, you need to wear these whenever you're around people. You...are special. You can't tell your father or your brother about any of this. It's a secret between you and I."

"Of course I'm special! Daddy calls me special every day," Bay said, eyebrows scrunched together in confusion.

"He doesn't realize just how special you are. Your eyes do very special things, but you need to keep it to yourself, you could get yourself and others hurt by doing this.

We hugged and she said she understood.

Later, I found out I was pregnant.

"Mommy, why haven't you put away my old crib yet?" Bay asked one day when she and I were in the nursery.

"Because, you're going to be a big sister again."

"Really?!" Bay screamed in excitement.

"Mhmm!"

She squeezed me tight, then backed away and said sorry, and that she hoped she hadn't hurt the baby.
